A shocking relay performance from many teams in this afternoons 4x100m relay semi finals!

First off in the men's 4x100m relay, team USA managed to drop the baton in the race, hence getting disqualified and not getting through to the Olympic final!

This left the path clear for other teams to qualify with less pressure and less competition without the men's USA team in the final!

Unfortunately it wasn't that easy! Team GB managed to get themselves disqualified! A large mix up for all teams in the final baton exchange area and team GB managed to exchange the baton out of the designated area and got themselves disqualified.

Unfortunately Craig Pickering for team GB started his run too early and couldn't get the exchange completed in the area, it was disappointing as without the men's USA team we could have hoped for a medal.

Within the women's relay the USA manage to crash out again in the semi finals! The baton was dropped in the final exchange and the women's team got disqualified.

Luckily for Team GB women's team we got though! So it should make for an interesting final without the women's USA team.
